What Is An Uncontested Divorce?
Divorce doesn’t have to be an adversarial process. In Georgia, you and your spouse can resolve all of the issues in your divorce outside of court. This is known as an uncontested divorce.

However, by resolving your divorce in a civil and dignified manner, you can move on with your life with your emotions and finances as intact as possible. You can also maintain good communications with your ex, which is important if you have children.
An uncontested or amicable divorce does not mean that you and your spouse do not have differences over issues such as how you will divide marital property and debts or how you will raise your children after divorce. It simply means you will seek to resolve those differences without resorting to litigation.
There are many ways to reach an uncontested divorce. You and your spouse can negotiate an agreement at your kitchen table. As your lawyer, I’ll review the agreement and prepare your divorce papers.
